was
originally formed to carry out plaster restoration work
on historical buildings. By 1980 we were manufacturing
our own specialised products for restoration work and
continue to develop products for desalination, repointing
and plaster restoration.
Westlegate Pty Ltd was responsible for the introduction
and acceptance of the chemical damp proof course system
into Australia and also developed the method of ceiling
reinstatement for historical houses.
As the company expanded, Waterproofing and Architectural
coatings were added to the range. In 1984 the company
developed the
for James Hardie & Co. and manufactured the products
that were sold under the James Hardie Label.
In 1986 the sales arm of Westlegate Pty Ltd (Sovereign
Chemicals Australia) was sold to the Laporte Group of
companies, with the Managing Director and General Manager
contracted to Laporte for 3 years. At the end of 1989
Westlegate Pty Ltd started to manufacture its own range
of products using formulations from as early as 1978
for products that had been in use and proven for
in excess of 10 years.
In 1995 Westlegate Pty Ltd acquired the Paper and Board
manufacturing plant at Milperra and established the
division utilising some of the paper materials in the
building restoration field for desalination products.
Since 1995 the paper division has carried out continual
development on paper and board products for specialised
application.
We continue to manufacture for companies who sell under
their own label, but mainly sell our products under
the Westox Label, with these products currently being
sold in 46 countries. |
