PREPARATION
All concrete or mortar must be sound and free of loose material laitence or any contaminants
All steel reinforcing shall be rust free and appropriately treated to remove scale and coated with Westox CR25/cement (Refer separate Data Sheet). Absorbent substrates must be thoroughly dampened prior to application. The surface must be damp with no free water.
MIXING
Gradually add Westox High Build to required amount of water and mix to a smooth workable lump free consistency. The over use of water may cause slumping.
PRIMING
A slurry or Westox CR25/cement is to be applied to the dampened surface and the high build mortar is to be applied while the slurry is still wet.
APPLICATION
Apply the mixed mortar by trowel or float to the primed surface.
CURING
Plastalite High Build is formulated to cure under normal conditions. If applied in high temperatures or windy conditions a curing agent/primer in the form of Westox WB30 could be used. The covering of the area with plastic sheeting may also assist the curing process to avoid shrinkage.
FINISHING
A float and sponge finish may be achieved. A finish coat of Plastalite fairing coat may be used to achieve a smooth surface.
