Westox building products, formed in Australia in March 1976 began as a plastering company engaged in the restoration of heritage plastering in Australia as far back as 1969 and for 6 years in the UK before that. 

The company successfully introduced chemical injection damp coursing in Australia in 1975 and optimised the method for the reinstatement of wood lath ceilings. In the early 1980’s Westox worked in conjunction with the Commonwealth Scientific Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in the development of sacrificial renders, then in 1995 Westox acquired a specialized paper and board manufacturing plant at Revesby and established the “Technical Paper Services” division utilizing the pharmaceutical filtering board pulp in the desalination material known as Cocoon.
