ST. APOLLONIA

St. Apollonia was originally the monastery for St. Marks Basilica. Now being used as a museum for religious art works (Museo Diocesano di Arte Sacra). Westox Cocoon was used to remove salts from the 60cm thick walls over a two year period, utilising the active rising damp to flush out the salts before installing a chemical damp proof course. An estimated 9kg of salt was removed from each square metre of wall area over the two year period.

ELIZABETH FARM

Elizabeth Farm 1794: Australia's oldest European style building, where previous unrestrained salt contamination had caused substantial fabric loss and structural deterioration. Elizabeth Farm was the home of John and Elizabeth Macarthur and was operational from 1793.

COCOON

Westox Cocoon poultice is one of its kind in the world! It was designed by Westox, who recognised the need for a product to remove salt from masonry and developed the product initially to treat the salt contamination at Fort Denison on Sydney Harbour. It is a poultice that is capable of drawing salt out of masonry and halting deterioration. Manufactured from pharmaceutical grade filter paper, Cocoon features a very high internal surface area with high porosity and purity.
